SMART Board of Directors

SMART’s board of directors generally meets at 2 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of each month. Most meetings are held in the Authority’s administrative offices, on the sixth floor of the Buhl Building in downtown Detroit.
Members of the public may participate by giving comments in-person during public comment at the beginning of the meeting, or by email (to [email protected]) before 1:30pm on the day of the meeting. Virtual participation is not available; though the meetings are usually livestreamed on SMART’s YouTube channel.
Attendees of meetings at the Buhl Building must sign in with building security to access the meeting room. Attendees who wish to take audio or video recordings, as permitted under the Open Meetings Act, are now required to sit in a designated signed area in the public seating area.
