Double DDOT Transit Town Hall

It’s time for Detroit to treat public transit like the essential public need that it is, and invest in boosting bus service across the city. A total of 30 organizations have signed this letter to the Mayor and City Council, urging them to commit $150 million in general fund dollars towards the Detroit Department of Transportation in the fiscal year 2026 budget, and get us on the path towards doubling DDOT service as envisioned in the 2024 DDOT Reimagined plan.

On Thursday, February 27, TRU and our allies at Detroit Disability Power, Detroit DSA, Detroit People’s Platform, ATU Local 26, MOSES, and the Sierra Club are hosting a virtual Transit Town Hall about our campaign to #DoubleDDOT. We hope you can join us for a discussion of why this issue is so critical, and how we can prevail on the City to provide Detroiters with the transit we need and deserve. RSVP at the link below.

Please get in touch with TRU Campaigns Manager Joel Batterman (joel [at] detroittransit.org) if you have any special needs for the town hall!
