This Sunday’s Detroit Free Press editorial outlined the work John Hertel is doing to create and build support around a regional transit system:
"Imagine a rapid transit line running along Woodward, from Jefferson to New Center, by 2010. Now picture that line extending to 8 Mile by 2015, and similar lines appearing along Michigan Avenue, M-59 and Telegraph Road by 2020 or so. . . .
The best hope for that may lie in John Hertel, the new CEO of the Regional Transit Coordinating Council. He’s quietly building a groundswell of support for plans that could bring cohesive regional transit to the area within a decade. . . ."
