RTA Comes to Pontiac!

The Regional Transit Authority covers the full four-county region of southeast Michigan, but has historically held most its meetings in downtown Detroit. But no more!

RTA held a packed Board of Directors meeting at the Detroit Regional Chamber office in June of 2016 with lots of public input.

Following encouragement from TRU and their own Citizen’s Advisory Committee, RTA has committed to hold more of their meetings in a broader diversity of locations AND more in the evening when more people can attend.

They met in Washtenaw County on July and Macomb in August. Next up is Oakland!

They’ll hold their regular Board Meeting (which includes time for public comment) at 4:30pm and an Open House about their proposed priorities at 6:00pm. Both are open to the public.

RTA held a public meeting in Livonia in 2018 to seek input on it’s efforts to develop a new regional transit plan.

Mark your calendar and spread the word!!

TRU’s civic engagement work work is made possible with grant funding from United Way of Southeastern Michigan.
