As a membership-based organization, TRU members vote each year on our Board of Directors, who in turn oversee the organization’s priorities, resources, and Executive Director over the coming years. The current Board reviews all candidates and recommends a slate for the membership to vote on during our January Annual Meeting, which occurred January 25.
Anyone who has made a donation to TRU of $5 or more in the past 12 months is considered a member of TRU and can vote for the Board members. Please join with a donation today!

Departing Board Members
This year we say a very fond farewell to three departing board members, each of who served TRU with his own passion, diligence, and commitment:
- Donald Stuckey, a regular Detroit bus rider and political and policy activist, who received his Masters of Public Policy while serving as TRU’s Board President. He plans to stay involved with TRU’s Transit Metrics action team.
- Dave Gifford, the region’s foremost promoter of public transit on social media, founder of Transit Guide Detroit website and social media channels, while raising young kids in Macomb County

Each man’s personal commitment and involvement in TRU has been enormously appreciated by our staff and fellow board members!
